Published 1 minute ago From stunning goals and shocking interviews to unforgettable celebrations, some sporting moments are made to be watched, not just read about. That's why we're introducing Shorts to the BBC Sport app. Millions of you already watch BBC Sport videos across social media every week. Shorts puts that content front and centre of the BBC Sport app, giving you instant access to the latest stories, moments and talking points from across the sporting world as soon as you open it. How can I get Shorts? First, you'll need the latest version 9.12.1 of the BBC Sport app. You can download it on Apple , external and Android , external devices, and Shorts will appear as a tab within the app. What is Shorts? Shorts is, erm, short for short-form video. Not the shorts that footballers wear. It's the familiar format you'll recognise from many social media platforms: full-screen, vertical and easy to scroll through. It's not just video highlights either. You'll find a mix of breaking news, explainers, behind-the-scenes content, interviews, features and highlights from major sporting events. Most importantly, it's all sport. No distractions. Just trusted, entertaining and informative sport videos from the teams covering the biggest stories across BBC Sport. So whether you've got a spare 30 seconds or 30 minutes, you'll have a place to catch up on the action, understand the stories behind the headlines and hear from the biggest names in your favourite sports. Can I make it my default experience? Yes. If you love the Shorts experience, you can make it the screen that opens when you launch the BBC Sport app. Simply tap the menu button in the top-right corner, select "Other", then open "Settings". Prefer Home or My Sport? Nothing changes. They'll remain available, and you can switch your default experience at any time in Settings. Is the experience personalised? Not yet. This is the first version of Shorts, so you'll see the same experience as everyone else. It's curated by the BBC Sport team, bringing together the latest and best videos from news and events across the sporting world. Why are you launching Shorts? More fans are following sport through short-form video than ever before. We want BBC Sport to be available in the formats audiences increasingly use every day, while offering something a little different. This is trusted journalism, expert analysis and great storytelling from the teams covering the biggest stories in sport. Shorts brings together the best of BBC Sport's reporting, storytelling, highlights and analysis in a format designed for how many people follow sport today.

As a skeptic, Im always cautious about new app features. Shorts on BBC Sport sounds interesting, but with so many options, will users really find time to check it out amidst their busy schedules? Only time will tell, but I hope it delivers on its promise of quick, engaging content. #Shorts #BBCSport #Skepticism
