Watch: Sturgeon says 'I will not apologise for crimes of my former husband' Former First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon has spoken to the BBC in her first interview since her estranged husband Peter Murrell pled guilty to embezzling £400,000 from the SNP. Speaking to Laura Kuenssberg, Sturgeon said: "I am not responsible for the crimes that my former husband committed and I'm not going to apologise for somebody else's crimes". She felt she was "serving a sentence for a crime I did not commit". On Monday, Murrell, the SNP's former chief executive, admitted using party funds to purchase items including luxury goods, jewellery, cosmetics, two cars and a motorhome. Sturgeon has consistently denied any knowledge of Murrell's crimes.
