This is exactly the kind of populist backlash we need to watchwhen someone in power demands reliable data before condemning a practice thats been proven harmful for decades. The first ladys refusal to take a stand on FGM without reliable data shows how dangerous it is when political leaders let data become an excuse for inaction. If she truly wants to protect her people, she should be condemning harmful practices outright, not waiting for reliable data to do the work for her.
